What are the changes planned for the CompTIA exams and certifications in 2021 and 2022? Let’s find the answer.
The most talked about topic is the September 2021 update of Network+ certification. A new exam coded N10-008 will be launched. The exam’s new additions focus on network security, network architecture and emerging wireless standards. The N10-007 exam, which was the previous version, is still valid and can be taken until February 2022.
The second change is the Cloud+ designation, which was updated in June 2021. The current exam CV0-002 will be retired in January 2022. However, the new CV0-003 exam has been launched. The new exam focuses on security and high availability and improves candidates’ skills in securing cloud computing.
Server+ certification was updated in May 2021 with the introduction of SK0-005 exam version. The exam covers topics that are divided into 4 exam domains. The main changes include the focus on cloud computing concepts, automation and virtualization, scripting, hybrid and onsite server environments, server troubleshooting, administration of remote and onsite servers, and scripting. The exam also includes performance-based questions to assess the candidate’s practical skills. On January 7, 2022, the previous exam version will be discontinued.
CASP+ accreditation will be the next certification to affect changes in 2021. The CASP+ accreditation was launched in October 2021. It focuses on cybersecurity engineering and architecture, zero trust methodologies and endpoint security, governance and compliance skills, and measures an enterprise’s cybersecurity readiness. The new PT0-002 exam, which will be available on October 28, 2021, will cover the use of the most recent techniques for pen testing broadened attacks surface, ethical hacking mindset in different scenarios, and the completion of practical tasks that demonstrate vulnerability management skills and code analysis abilities that are highly valuable in penetration testing today. The PT0-001 exam will be retired in April 2022.
CompTIA has more updates than this long list. CompTIA keeps up with market trends and will launch a new certification Data+ in February 2022. Data analytics is one of the most important skills IT professionals need to have in 2021. No matter what industry an organization operates in, it must deal with a lot of data every day. This data must be collected, transformed, analyzed and presented in a readable format that allows for business decisions. Data analytics skills are vital for any organization. Specialists who work with data should be highly trained.
What is Data+?
This accreditation is for candidates who are interested in learning data analytics skills. It’s entry-level and vendor-neutral. Certified specialists with basic data analytics skills will be able find work in any company they choose. The certificate’s rating would therefore be very high.
CompTIA certifications will make candidates data-driven professionals. Certified candidates will be able to analyze complex datasets and be proficient in manipulating, visualizing, reporting, and mining data.
The third step is to pass the DA0-001 qualifying exam, which will evaluate candidates’ abilities to work with data quickly and effectively. The exam will consist of 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions. It should be completed in 90 minutes. The exam score must be at least 675 points to be considered successful.
